Please take notice that the Town Plan Commission will be holding a public hearing on Wednesday May 20th, 2026 at 5pm, at Town Hall to discuss and hear public comments towards the rewrite of the Town of Lapointe's Zoning Ordinance.

The revised DRAFT Ordinance, which is the product of this effort, incorporates feedback from the Community from the September 2025 Public Hearing and follow-on listening sessions.

Recently the Town of La Pointe was notified that through the enacted federal funding legislation, we will recieve $1.5 million appropriation for the Big Bay Town Park and this investment will allow for the replacement of the bridge and wooden stairs with a fully ADA-accessible ramp. 

In April 2023, Cooper Engineering was hired to perform a study to determine the feasibility of replacing the
