Recently the Town of La Pointe was notified that through the enacted federal funding legislation, we will recieve $1.5 million appropriation for the Big Bay Town Park and this investment will allow for the replacement of the bridge and wooden stairs with a fully ADA-accessible ramp. 

In April 2023, Cooper Engineering was hired to perform a study to determine the feasibility of replacing the
walkway and pedestrian bridge at Big Bay Town Park. The main focus was determining what kind of handicap-accessible options
there are to replace the current walkway and what those options might cost.

More information on the project timeline and design process will be shared in the coming months.
